MISSION STATEMENT:
Protection of WA's environment by providing community groups and individuals with environmental legal services including advice, education, representation and opportunity to participate in reform of laws affecting the environment.
The EDO is a non-profit, non-government community legal centre specialising in public interest environmental law. Our services include:
- Providing community groups and individuals with legal advice and representation on environmental issues;
- Promoting environmental law reform; and
- Undertaking community legal education.
Core funding for legal advice, legal education and law reform activities is provided by the Commonwealth Attorney-General's Department and the State Government Attorney-General's Department. Donations from the general public are also required for the EDO to meet the state-wide demand for its legal services.
FREE LEGAL ADVICE:
The EDO provides free legal advice over the phone to members of the community in public interest environmental law matters.
Call us on (08) 9221 3030 or Frecall 1800 175 542 (for WA callers outside the Perth Metropolitan Region). We cannot guarantee that there will be a solicitor available to help you on the day that you call, however if you leave a message we will arrange for someone to call you back, normally within 3 working days. If you require further ongoing assistance or representation, please lodge an Application for legal Assistance. This form enables us to determine whether your case meet our Assessment Criteria.
